Barcelona forward Neymar scored all four goals as Brazil thrashed Japan in a friendly in Singapore.

The 22-year-old took his tally to 40 international goals in 58 matches making him the fifth highest scorer in Brazil history, after overtaking Bebeto; he trails Zico (48), Romario (55), Ronaldo (62) and Pele (77).

However, just 10 of his 40 goals have come in competitive matches.

Neymar scored his first after 18 minutes but had to score three second-half goals to complete his impressive quadruple.

His second was a simple finish after being sent through one-on-one, before he latched onto a rebound for his third and powered home a header with nine minutes remaining.

Neymar, who captained the side, also was unlucky after hitting the bar with a brilliant free-kick.

Chelsea trio Willian, Oscar and Filipe Luis also played in the match, while Liverpool star Philippe Coutinho came on at half-time, providing Neymar with his second goal.

The match was the fourth straight victory for new coach Dunga, who continues to rebuild the side after their disappointing World Cup campaign on home soil.
