1. Time travel

4. Brum scrum

Starting this weekend, Network Rail will implement "crowd control measures" at Birmingham New Street station on Friday evenings and at weekends, to prevent overcrowding in the run-up to Christmas. 5. Mara Watch

On Monday, wildlife guide and photographer Paul Goldstein and zoologist Mark Carwardine will present the story of a year in the Masai Mara. The event takes place at the Royal Institution in London. 6. NW exhibition

The Northwest Passage is the subject of the latest exhibition at the British Library, adjacent to St Pancras Station in London NW1. 7. Light up Lyon

From 5-8 December, around 50 light installations created by artists from around the world will illuminate the centre of Lyon during the Fête des Lumières. 8. Bag bargain

Virgin Atlantic Little Red, which connects Aberdeen and Edinburgh with Heathrow, is doubling its baggage allowance from 15 December to 1 February 2015. Passengers can check in two 23kg bags.
