James Wilson is determined to use the experience of learning from three of the best strikers in world football to aid his development.

The Manchester United youngster also admitted that he has had a few "pinch-me" moments in his first full season with the first-team squad.

The 19-year-old has made 15 appearances already this season and came off the bench to score United's third goal in the FA Cup replay win against League Two Cambridge United last night, the teenager firing a smart left-footed shot past U's keeper Chris Dunn.

That goal was his second of the season and Wilson is confident that learning from Robin van Persie, Wayne Rooney and Radamel Falcao will stand him in great stead for the future.

"I have learned a lot from all three of them, probably different things from each of them," Wilson told the club website. "Coming into work and training with them every day is unbelievable for me because I have got a lot to learn in the game.

"This is my first season in the first team so I have just got to train with them as much as I can, keep fit and keep learning. I’ve had a few 'pinch-me' moments though."

United boss Louis van Gaal has continually shown faith in the young striker, starting him in the draw with Stoke City and win over Liverpool. Wilson is delighted to count on his support.

"He’s a top manager," added Wilson. "In training, he always wants 100 per cent out of everybody and he is very encouraging. If you need help from him, you can just go up to him and ask. He is not one of those people who are distant, he will take the time out to talk to you and that is good for me."
