The RSPCA are hunting for a man caught on CCTV repeatedly punching a dog on a street in Norwich.

The footage, released by the RSPCA, shows a dog walking loose on the pavement before a man, assumed to be its owner, bends down to attach a lead to its collar.

He can then be seeing punching the dog hard four times in the head before walking out of the camera’s view.

The dog is believed to be a bull breed type with white markings on its front leg and chest.

A “number of names” have been put forward in connection with the attack although no arrests have been made, the BBC reported.

The attack took place just after 13:30 GMT on 9 February in Jex Road, Norwich.

“You can clearly see the dog being punched in the head with some considerable force, several times,” said RSPCA inspector Laura Sayer.

“The dog shows clear signs of fear and we are very concerned about his or her welfare.”
