Jon Stewart takes Justice Scalia to task over marriage equality and ObamaCare dissent

It was only a matter of time before Jon Stewart turned his attention to Justice Antonin Scalia, the Supreme Court judge who was less than pleased with the decision to legalise same-sex marriage in the US.

Stewart devoted a segment of his Monday night episode of The Daily Show to the “cranky” Supreme Court judge and the opinions he expressed while dissenting against the ruling.

“I think we found Scalia’s tell,” he said. “The crankiness of Scalia’s insults runs inverse to his intellectual consistency.”

Justice Scalia also used a number of colourful adjectives when dissenting to the decision to ObamaCare subsidies, including “absurd”, “interpretative jiggery-pokery” and “pure applesauce”.

“Sir,” said Stewart. “Let us not say things we can never take back! Or even understand!

"You kiss your mother which that mouth?"

The vehement arguments made by Justice Scalia in his nine page essay against the marriage equality ruling led Stewart to give him a new nickname - The Human Dissentipede.
