Images and video have emerged from Spain that show Real Madrid winger Gareth Bale having his car attacked by furious supporters.

The incident occurred late last night according to Spanish newspaper AS, after Real Madrid's 2-1 defeat to fierce rivals Barcelona at the Nou Camp.

Los Blancos now find themselves four points behind Barca in the race for the Spanish title but things took a turn for the worse after the match, with fans waiting for players outside their Valdebebas training base in Madrid.

Bale, who started well but was anonymous in the second half as Real Madrid were powerless to prevent defeat, has been filmed by Spanish TV channel Cuatro leaving the training ground under a wave of abuse from a small group of fans.

When he refuses to stop the fans also strike out at his Bentley Continental GT, a car that can cost in excess of £100,000 brand new.

Bale's car was also kicked by Real Madrid fans at the start of the season after he refused to stop to sign autographs.

Fans also hit the Audi R8 of Bale's team-mate Jese Rodriguez, who stopped the car and rolled down the window before carrying on.

Sergio Ramos tried to engage with the fans, saying: "What's the matter? Do you think that's the right attitude?"
