Kate Bush's latest run of live gigs has completely sold out in less than fifteen minutes, after tickets were released at 9.30am this morning.

The "Running Up That Hill" singer is set to play 22 dates for her Before the Dawn tour at London's Eventim Apollo, Hammersmith from 26 August to 1 October this year.

Bush said: "I'm completely overwhelmed by the response to the shows. Thank you so much to everyone. Looking forward to seeing you all later this year.

Seven extra nights were added to the London stint after her team reported "enormous pre-sale demand" following the announcement that she would be returning to the stage for the first time in 35 years.

With her debut 1978 single "Wuthering Heights", Bush became the first woman to reach number one in the UK with a self-penned song.

She was 20 when she completed her only concert tour, The Tour of Life, with three dates at the former Hammersmith Odeon.

Afterwards, she stopped performing live, leaving many fans believing they would never get to see her on stage. Bush told Mojo magazine in 2011 that while she found touring "enormously enjoyable...physically it was absolutely exhausting".

Now 55-years-old, Bush was awarded a CBE for services to music last year.
