Joe Alaskey, the Emmy-award winning actor who provided voice-overs for a host of Looney Choons characters, has died aged 63.

Alaskey passed away from cancer on Wednesday, according to a report by TMZ.

He voiced Bugs Bunny, Donald Duck, Tweety, Sylvester and a number of other memorable characters.

Alaskey was born in Troy, New York, and began his career as an impressionist, taking over from Mel Blanc in 1989.

He also provided voice-overs for the Discovery investigation Murder Comes To Town.
