American Airlines has canceled all flights to and from Brussels until April 7 in what appears to be further response to the terrorist attacks that killed 32 people and injured hundreds in that city last week.

The airline released a statement saying that all flights in and out of Brussels Airport are on hold until a flight from Philadelphia departs on April 7. A return flight will depart the following day.

"American Airlines extends its deepest sympathies and condolences to those affected by the tragic events in Brussels," the company said in the statement.

American Airlines is the biggest US airline, followed by Delta and United. The airline did not specify exactly why it has cancelled all flights to and from Brussels in its statement.
