Welcome to The Independent's live coverage of today's Premier League action, beginning with Manchester City v Crystal Palace.

The reigning champions continued their nice run of form that has seen them string eight wins together in all competitions despite the absence of Sergio Aguero, Edin Dzeko and Stevan Jovetic, as they recorded a comfortable 3-0 win over Palace.

The win sends City joint-top of the Premier League with Chelsea, although they fell a goal short of passing the Blues with a superior goals-scored record.

The story of the day was undoubtedly at Loftus Road, where a Charlie Austin hat-trick saw QPR battle back from two-goals down to beat West Brom 3-2.

Radamel Falcao salvaged a draw against 10-man Aston Villa after Gabriel Agbonlahor was harshly sent-off, while Andy Carroll and Stewart Downing continued their fine form in West Ham's 2-0 win over Leicester.

Southampton finally halted their losing streak with an impressive 3-0 win over Everton, and Tottenham saw off valiant Burnley to claim a 2-1 victory. A deflected Ki Sung-yeung effort gave Swansea the points at Hull.
