Arsenal booked their place in the knockout stages of the Champions League with an impressive victory over Borussia Dortmund.
Yaya Sanogo opened the scoring inside two minutes to set the Gunners on their way, before Alexis Sanchez added a second with a beautiful shot that curled past Roman Weidenfeller.
Dortmund did have chances, however, and had third-choice goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez to thank for keeping them in the lead. The Argentine produced a fantastic save to deny Henrikh Mkhitaryan at the end of the first-half to keep the game at 1-0 and did everything that was asked of him.
Defensively, the Gunners looked more solid than they had done in recent weeks, keeping a clean sheet.
Mikel Arteta and Aaron Ramsey disappointed, but Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, on his 100th appearance for Arsenal, was an impressive performer down the right.
Arsene Wenger may have raised a few eyebrows when he opted to start Sanogo over Joel Campbell and Lukas Podolski, who were both on the bench, but his gamble certainly paid off.
