The Kardashian-Jenner sisters have rejected accusations that that they were looking at their mobile phones and chatting through a heartfelt VMAs tribute to the troubles in Ferguson.
Numerous people watching a home were aghast at what they said was disinterest displayed by the sisters, as rapper Common asked the audience to observe a moment of silence for Michael Brown, the teenager whose death at the hands of police sparked an almost two-week-long protest against police brutality and racial profiling.
Some tweeters began posting stills of the show to social media, completely flabbergasted, however a spokesperson for the sisters has said that the claims are "absolutely false".
One Twitter user had said: “I would pay TOP DOLLAR to see Kim Kardashian point out Ferguson on a map.”

MTV went political this year, airing two 15-second public service announcements aimed at challenging stereotypes and addressing the civil rights demonstrations in Ferguson, Missouri, in conjunction with a campaign called Look Different.
One of the clips features a quote from author James Baldwin and reads: “Not everything that is faced can be changed; but nothing can be changed until it is faced.”
