Welcome to The Independent's live coverage of today's Premier League action as we bring you the latest news and goals from around the grounds.

We began the day in the north-east as Liverpool managed an unconvincing 1-0 win over Sunderland, despite the Black Cats having Liam Bridcutt sent-off early in the second half. In the end it was Lazar Markovic's first Premier League goal that proved to be the difference.

Oscar and Diego Costa ensured Chelsea remain top of the table as they both found the net to secure a 2-0 win over Newcastle at Stamford Bridge to make up for their defeat against the Magpies earlier in the season. The win was made all the more important as Manchester City were held 1-1 at Everton, with Fernandinho's goal cancelled out by Stevemn Naismith.

Burnley recorded another win over relegation rivals Queens Park Rangers with Scott Arfield and Danny Ings giving the Clarets a 2-1 win, while Matty James and Ciaran Clark were sent-off in the closing stages of Leicester's 1-0 win over Aston Villa.

Andy Carroll's stunning strike was only enough for a point for West Ham as Bafetimbi Gomis secured a 1-1 draw for Swansea, while Saido Berahino scored the winner in West Brom's 1-0 win against Hull.

The final game of the day saw an all-London derby take centre stage as Crystal Palace took Tottenham in Alan Pardew's first league game in charge of the Eagles. Harry Kane put Spurs ahead early in the second half, but a Dwight Gayle penalty saw Palace draw level and Jason Puncheon swept home the winning goal to give Pardew a 2-1 victory in his start to life at Selhurst Park.
