In the run-up to shooting the sequel to Kingsman The Golden Circle Elton John would be appearing in the film.
Those rumours have been proven true, as the Rocket Man confirmed he will be appearing in the film through his Instagram account, posting a parody poster featuring Union Jack glasses and the phrase "Wednesday night's alright for fighting”, a reference to his song “Saturday Night's Alright (For Fighting)”.
Alongside the poster was the caption “It's been a long time since Tommy ”, the 1975 film being John's last appearance on the big screen in a non-cameo role (playing the Pinball Wizard).
Earlier this week, the first images of Channing Tatum in The Golden Circle leaked online following filming in London. The actor is presumed to be playing a US spy, as the film see’s Taron Egerton’s Eggsy travelling state-side, presumably helping the CIA - the head of which will be played by Halle Berry.
Little is known about the film’s plot, although it has been hinted that Colin Firth’s character will likely return while Mark Strong will be back as Merlin.
