Supermarket giant Tesco has published a list of a broad range of products it is recalling, including some of its Galaxy and Maltesers chocolates, Quorn cocktail sausages and haggis products, citing health and safety concerns.
Two batches of Galaxy Milk multipack bars and two batches of Maltesers Teasers are affected due to the potential presence of Salmonella. In June, Mars, which makes Galaxy and Maltesers, confirmed that it was recalling some of its products for fear that eating them could make people sick.
Tesco said that it was also recalling some of its Clif Builder's Chocolate Mint Protein Bars, various haggis and black pudding of the Macsween of Edinburgh brand, various Peter’s Premier Slices pies, one batch of its Creamy Leek & Bacon Cooking Sauce, some of its Quorn Chilled Cocktail Sausages and some of its Uncle Joe’s Liquorice & Aniseed Extra Strong Mints.
Some of the products are being recalled because they might contain foods that are not listed on the label, like egg, milk, barley and nuts, to which some people might be intolerant, Tesco said.
The supermarket said on its website that most of the recalls are a precautionary measure. It said that affected products should be returned to their place of purchase for a full refunds. A receipt is not required.
