If you need something to adorn your walls and are hoping to spot the next Tracey Emin or Damien Hirst into the bargain, then you should check out the Catlin Guide 2011, a pick of the 40 most promising UK art school graduates.

You might already have heard of the Catlin Art Prize, which has been going for five years and is the student equivalent of the Turner Prize, but the award's lesser-known sister publication is only in its second year.

The guide’s curator Justin Hammond scours degree shows across the country to select exceptional talents from 500 recommendations by course leaders and industry experts.

The Catlin Guide 2011 will go on sale next week with a modest print run of over 2,000, but you can preview the work of all the artists featured in this year’s guide online here.

The Catlin Guide 2011 is published by YES. A limited number will be available free at the London Art Fair, 19-23rd January, after which it is available from Amazon www.amazon.co.uk and selected book shops, RRP £12.99.
