Schools that have closed due to the public sector strikes

Schools across the country have shut their doors today as public sector workers stage a strike over pensions.

Many councils are posting lists of school closures and part-closures on websites to keep parents updated.

Here is a list of the school closures, by local authority, known so far:

:: Barking and Dagenham: 48 closed, nine partly closed.

:: Barnet: 92 schools and nurseries shut, a further 18 partly closed.

:: Barnsley: 80 schools closed and one partially shut.

:: Bexley: 40 school closures and 21 part closures.

:: Birmingham: 243 out of 439 schools closed.

:: Brent: 52 schools closed and 12 partially shut.

:: Bromley: 48 schools shut, 29 partly closed.

:: Bristol: more than 120 schools shut or partially shut.

:: Bury: 66 closed and 10 partly closed.

:: Cambridgeshire: 191 out of 247 schools closed, along with 33 partial closures.

:: Central Bedfordshire: 66 schools affected.

:: Cornwall: 177 out of 274 schools affected.

:: Coventry: 91 schools closed, nine partially open.

:: Croydon: 82 schools closed.

:: Cumbria: 220 schools closed, 16 partially closed.

:: Derbyshire: 221 schools closed or partially shut.

:: Devon: more than 140 schools affected.

:: Doncaster: 99 schools closed and six partially closed.

:: Dorset: 106 schools closed, 17 partially open.

:: Dudley: 70 primaries and 18 secondaries closed.

:: Ealing: 64 schools shut and 13 partly shut.

:: East Sussex: 117 schools fully closed, 27 partly shut.

:: Enfield: 72 schools affected.

:: Essex: 75 schools have notified the authority that they will close, but this is not representative as 400 schools have not made their intentions known.

:: Gloucestershire: more than 160 schools or partially closed.

:: Greenwich: 70 closed and 12 partly closed.

:: Hackney: 58 schools closed and four partly shut.

:: Hammersmith and Fulham: 44 schools affected.

:: Hampshire: 322 schools either closed or partly closed.

:: Haringey: 70 closed and five partly closed.

:: Harrow: 33 schools affected.

:: Havering: 59 schools closed, 16 partly closed.

:: Herefordshire: An estimated 28 primaries are closed along with seven secondaries that are fully shut and seven partially shut.

:: Hertfordshire: 325 schools affected.

:: Hillingdon: 36 schools shut.

:: Hounslow: 54 school closures.

:: Islington: 49 schools closed, six partly closed.

:: Kent: around 126 schools fully closed, 104 partially shut.

:: Kingston-upon-Thames: 38 schools affected.

:: Knowsley: pupils affected at 50 primary, seven secondary and seven special schools.

:: Lincolnshire: 97 schools fully or partially closed.

:: Lambeth: 66 closed and 14 partly shut.

:: Lewisham: 69 closed and 20 partly closed.

:: Liverpool: Two out of 31 secondary schools partially open, along with a small number of 122 primaries.

:: Newham: 69 closed and 14 partly closed.

:: Norfolk: 224 out of 304 schools closed, at least six are partially closed.

:: Northamptonshire: 223 schools affected.

:: North Yorkshire: 161 schools closed, 59 partially closed.

:: Nottingham: 87 schools shut and 12 partially closed.

:: Nottinghamshire: 322 schools affected.

:: Plymouth: 70 schools affected.

:: Portsmouth: 35 schools shut, 17 partially closed.

:: Reading: 36 schools affected.

:: Redbridge: 65 schools shut, 12 partly open.

:: Rotherham: 101 schools closed.

:: Sandwell: 66 closed, five partially open.

:: Sheffield: 127 schools closed and 35 partially shut.

:: Shropshire: 115 schools closed or partially closed.

:: Solihull: 48 of 75 schools closed and 16 partially open.

:: Somerset: 130 schools affected.

:: Southampton: 72 schools closed and three partially closed.

:: Southwark: 70 closed and nine partly closed.

:: Staffordshire: 153 of 411 schools and academies closed, 28 partially closed.

:: Suffolk: 187 out of 421 schools closed.

:: Swindon: more than 40 schools closed.

:: Torbay: 25 schools affected.

:: Tower Hamlets: 84 schools closed and eight partly closed.

:: Trafford: 82 schools affected.

:: Waltham Forest: 82 schools affected.

:: Wandsworth: 40 closed, 29 partly closed.

:: Warrington: All 12 high schools shut, 13 of 74 primaries at least partly open.

:: Warwickshire: 174 of 247 schools have not opened.

:: Westminster: 18 closed, 15 partly closed.

:: West Sussex: 141 schools fully or partly closed.

:: Wolverhampton: 85 schools shut.

:: Wiltshire: 124 schools closed.

:: Brighton and Hove: 65 schools shut.

:: Calderdale: 87 schools closed, seven part closed.

:: Hull: 94 schools closed, three part closed.

:: Medway: 41 closed, 38 part closed.

:: Milton Keynes: 51 schools shut.

:: Newcastle: 82 schools closed, six part closed.

:: Northumberland: 136 closed, nine part closed.

:: North Lincolnshire: 38 closed, 15 part closed.

:: Oldham: 90 schools shut, eight partly closed.

:: Southend: 37 schools closed.

:: Stockport: 87 closed, 19 part closed.

:: Stockton-on-Tees: 60 closed, 13 partially shut.

:: Thurrock: 36 schools shut.

:: Wakefield: 14 closures.

:: West Berkshire: 35 closed, 10 part closed.

:: Wirral, 117 closed, seven part closed.

:: York: 35 closed, 20 part closed.

:: Bournemouth: 37 schools shut.

:: Buckinghamshire: 82 closed, 32 partly closed.

:: Lancashire: 267 schools closed, 22 partly closed.
